Special features regarding teaching

Instruction in this newly designed degree programme reflects the transformation in the development of motor vehicles. Content includes software and especially validation as well as automotive engineering. The teaching focuses on the link between software and hardware and its impact on a vehicle.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Exchange programme with China and double degree, exchange programmes for foreign students and thus possible for our students to go abroad to study for one semester without tuition fees.

Special features regarding the equipment

The department has the relevant laboratories and PC workstations where students work on practice-relevant projects and exercises. A driving simulator (3D system) is currently being set up for future projects and exercises.

Special features regarding research and development

The research activities are still in their infancy because a new colleague with the relevant expert knowledge in autonomous driving was only appointed in the 2018/2019 winter semester. The university's Institute of Sustainable Energy and Mobility (INEM) is a research platform for alternative drives. The university is currently preparing for participation in the Formula Student competition for autonomous vehicles.

Support for founders

Here you can find the university's general programmes. The department does not offer any special activities, because as a rule graduates work in vehicle development directly with the vehicle manufacturers.

Other special features

This degree course takes into account digitalisation in automobile development. It combines classic driving mechanics with electronic assistance systems and therefore offers a new, contemporary training profile.
