Special features regarding teaching

The special feature is the close integration of theory and practice: An academic foundation, high level of practical relevance, close interlinking of course content with specific problems from companies and practice-oriented research & development projects are the core of the subject area; Current issues and solutions from academia, business, society and technology are addressed; Carefully chosen forms of teaching such as practice projects, project assignments and case studies; First-rate teaching staff from academia and business in Germany and abroad; Limited number of places; Continuous evaluation

Special features regarding the international orientation

Currently there are young people from more than 60 countries enrolled at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Of the approximately 5800 students, around 850 students come from abroad. Students at our university have the opportunity to complete part of their studies at over 90 partner universities worldwide. With the Erasmus+ university charter, we have committed to complying with the mobility standards. Currently, Mainz University of Applied Sciences is also well connected internationally thanks to the DAAD-funded "Internationalization@Home" project in the field of "Civil Engineering".

Research activities in the field of Construction at Mainz University of Applied Sciences are business-, application- and solution-oriented. The interdisciplinary character of the degree courses is also reflected in the faculty’s own research institutes: iS-mainz (Institute of Innovative Structures), MPA Mainz (Official Test Centre for Building Materials for Industrial Research in the Field of Steel Light Construction & Concrete Technology), IREC (Institute of Real Estate and Construction Management -; deals with innovative research & development tasks in management, planning, construction, operation of construction & real estate projects).
