Special features regarding teaching

Teaching at the University of Applied Management Studies is characterised by small groups, seminar-style forms of teaching and learning and an appreciative approach. There are no classic styled lectures. Thanks to case studies in companies, practice semesters and special features of the study organisation, which allow working student activities and internships in parallel with your studies, there is a close link between theory and practice. The HdWM represents an action- and people-oriented approach in Business Administration in accordance with the St. Gallen Management course.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Multiculturalism of teachers and learners. Students from 28 countries. Participation in the Erasmus programme, partnerships with 12 partner universities. Participation in international research projects in the amount of approx. € 100,000 annually. International excursions and conference visits by student teams.

Special features regarding the equipment

All seminar rooms are equipped with smartboards. A number of specialist economics databases are available. Named after the sponsor of the University of Applied Management Studies, Normann Stassen, the library offers access to more than 5,000 media items and several tens of thousands of digital works. Thanks to cooperation agreements, the students also use the offers of the University of Mannheim.

Special features regarding research activities

Research at the University of Applied Management Studies is practical and problem-oriented. It is characterised and supported by demanding student theses in the Master's programme. Demanding business challenges are almost always addressed, and results are regularly presented at international conferences.

Personal consultation; The proportion of students from family businesses and with their own freelance or commercial activity or company is above average and is around 15%.
