Special features regarding teaching

Architecture at Mainz University of Applied Sciences is characterised by integrated conceptual approaches to design which make the many different design ideas structurally feasible. Through close personal contacts, a wide variety of event formats and excursions, our interdisciplinary teaching ensures that our students grow up to be open-minded and resourceful architects.

Special features regarding the international orientation

We encourage our students to attend one of our partner universities for a semester or a whole year to give them the chance to strengthen their intercultural skills. Our long-standing partner universities are located around the world, from neighbouring countries all the way to South America. We of course also accommodate foreign students, who enrich our courses in Mainz.

Special features regarding the equipment

Very well-equipped model-building workshop with laser cutters and large-format 3D printers

Special features regarding research and development

Our architecture department does research in the AI MAINZ research institute which was specifically set up for this purpose. The institute focuses on architecture and the associated digital information technologies; Especially in the field of historical building research, preservation of historical monuments and architecture promotion.
