Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Teaching in the Bachelor's degree programme focuses on those areas of human geography or physical geography and landscape ecology in which the researchers have their comparative strengths, as proven in publications and third-party-funded projects. Therefore, in addition to a topical basic education, the focus is deliberately placed on enabling students to specialise as early as possible in certain sub-areas in which Geography in Hanover is particularly strong.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

The Master's degree programme in Landscape Sciences focuses on "Biodiversity & Ecosystems", "Soil Protection & Land Use", "Hydrology & Water Management", "Atmosphere & Climate Change", "GIS & Spatial Modelling" and "Human-Environmental Relations & Ecosystem Services". In the Master's degree programme "Economic Geography", there is a consistent focus on those subject areas in which the institute has its comparative strengths in research, as well as on demanding methodological training, especially in the area of statistical procedures.
