Special features regarding teaching

Small semester groups as well as our highly accessible and committed team of professors lend a personal atmosphere to studies. Teaching includes many interesting laboratory experiments that help impart the necessary practical knowledge. In addition, students can tackle industry work methods in application-related projects. Depending on personal interests, specialisations can be selected in the sixth and seventh semesters. This is a wide range of language options. For the academic studies, there is a computer centre available to students that links to the academic network.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The Mechatronics degree course makes stays abroad possible for students within the scope of practicals or at partner universities without having to exceed the standard period of study of 7 semesters. Here, students acquire key qualifications such as language proficiency, high flexibility and cross-cultural skills. As a special feature, our students can earn, in addition to the German degree, e.g. a Finnish degree from our Finnish partner university in Seinäjoki (double degree) and thus have practical experience and an internationally recognised degree.

Special features regarding the equipment

All lecture theatres are equipped with the latest multimedia technology. The laboratories, with their state-of-the-art technical equipment, provide the foundation for up-to-date, practically-oriented engineering training. Modern technology that meets industry standards makes it possible to reinforce the knowledge acquired in lectures in all phases of the degree course. In addition, the laboratories serve as the basis for many of the university's research and development projects and thus offer students many possibilities for Bachelor's and Master's theses.

Special features regarding research and development

Centre for Academic Services and Transfer (ZeWiS) in the Obernburg Industrial Centre as an overall concept for promoting applied research and knowledge transfer; Contact point for research commissions and academic services; Topics: Automotive, Design Science Research, Energy Efficiency; Intelligent engineering laboratories with various focuses and excellent equipment as the basis for numerous research and development activities and practically oriented training; Centre for Natural Sciences is a central unit for experimental teaching in the Natural Sciences

Support for founders

Company start-ups are supported centrally by the Career Service at the Aschaffenburg University. It offers extensive services for entrepreneurs by way of start-up consulting as well as contacts with initiatives and founders’ competitions.

Other special features

Academic studies can be commenced each year in October. The registration deadline begins on May 2 and ends on July 15 of each year. In addition to the wide range of language options, students also have the opportunity to prepare for the globalised and internationalised job market with stays abroad. Collaboration between the Hochschule Aschaffenburg and European and non-European universities offers the possibility of studying abroad to gain experience during studies.
