Fourteen rooms with 170 computer workstations (eight Windows pools and five Linux pools); Pool of 30 laptops; The computer pools and computer workstations are available to students to carry out their tasks. In addition to standard programmes for word processing and programme development, software products from the fields of Mathematics/Numerics (e.g. MatLab, Maple, Mathcad), CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks), CAE/FEM/CFD (e.g. Abaqus, Ansys, Comsol, LS-Dyna, Fluent, STAR-CCM+), Chemistry (e.g. TURBOMOLE) and other areas can be used for engineering applications.

Special features regarding research activities

Research from the fields of electrical engineering, computer science and mathematics is combined across institutes in the research areas of energy engineering, cyber-physical systems, data science, medical technology and modelling, simulation & optimisation. The research is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), industry and others.
