Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

There is a skills lab and simulation laboratory at the university for the acquisition of extended skills related to professional practice. In addition, research-based learning plays a decisive role in the didactic concept of teaching at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences and is implemented in the degree programme in Applied Nursing Sciences within the framework of student teaching and research projects.

Through our International Office and the existing contacts with universities abroad, there are a wide variety of opportunities to gain insight into the healthcare systems of other countries as part of the degree course.

Special features regarding the equipment

The University of Freiburg has clearly advocated for the digitalisation of the university in its strategy. In addition to specialist databases, students have access to the affiliated library of the German Caritas Association which has a special focus is on nursing sciences. In a three-year project funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, a core collection of German and international nursing literature was built up between 1994 and 1997 to supply materials for the newly established nursing degree courses offered throughout Germany and has been continuously expanded since then.
