Special features regarding teaching

Bachelor's: Additional courses can be taken if language skills are inadequate at the beginning; Courses can be freely chosen in the advanced modules. Master's: Range of courses on lecturer research topics which give students insight into academic work and the opportunity to participate if possible. Bachelor's and Master's courses: Introductory courses on application-related topics (Translation, Communication, etc.).

Special features regarding the international orientation

Bachelor's and Master's courses: Agreements with 65 Erasmus partner universities; Block seminars given by professors from the universities with which the university has Erasmus contracts are integrated into the range of courses. Internationally staffed lecture series and guest lectures by assistant professors from abroad are included in course planning. The students have the opportunity to actively participate in international conferences that are organised in Potsdam. International doctorate funding from third parties (e.g. through the DFH), POINTS – Potsdam International Network for TransArea Studies.

Special features regarding the equipment

There are projectors and computers in all classrooms. Other video and audio equipment is also available at any time. Students have Internet access via WiFi in all university rooms. 360-degree and VR technology, high-resolution, 360-degree cameras for creating teaching videos

Theoretical problems of the history of linguistics; LangAge / language in old age, grammar of construction, regional languages, the cloud in the literature of the 19th century; Novels by French and German writers around 1800; First edition an exchange of letter from Valéry; Dante and fine art.
