In addition to the standard equipment (sports halls, gymnastics halls, swimming pool, games hall, athletics stadium, football training pitches) We have a modern gymnasium with integrated research equipment,; A modern weight and fitness room with ergometry; Climbing area (outdoor and indoor); Beach volleyball and handball facility; Tennis courts; A Finnbahn trail; Water sports facilities (boathouse with kayaks, canoes and rowing boats plus direct access to the Neckar); Eye-tracking laboratory. All seminar rooms have modern smartboard technology. Institute library: up-to-date in-person resources and online access to specialist databases.

Special features regarding research activities

Elite sport research in the social and behavioural sciences (DFB, Bisp, UEFA, etc.); sport and health-related educational research; mixture of basic and practice-related research in the field of biomechanics and sports medicine; connection to the "Education" excellence area at the University of Tübingen (ScienceCampus, excellence initiative, quality initiative in teacher training); Interfaculty Research Institute for Sports and Physical Activity together with the Faculty of Medicine.

Other special features

The Institute of Sports Sciences at the University of Tübingen has five professorships, a co-opted professorship and a junior professorship, which means it has a relatively broad positioning (in comparison to other institutes) and thus also offers students a wide range of expertise.; Teaching also benefits from the broad-based – mostly application-oriented - research, as the respective research findings are incorporated here directly.
