Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The Bachelor's degree programme is characterised by an extensive and specific field of practice, i.e. a wide variety of sports, mostly through electives, from 5 fields of experience and learning are offered and didactics and methodology are learned during in sports activities.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Teaching qualification Master: The degree course is characterised by an extensive and specific field of practice, i.e. a wide variety of sports, mostly through elective options, from 5 fields of experience and learning are offered and didactics and methodology are learned during sports activities. Master's subject: The degree programme is theory-based and is linked to practice in the form of a large professional field project as well as smaller project-like courses. Special courses taught in English deal in depth with current research discourses and deepen the knowledge of specialist languages.

Special features regarding the equipment

Further development of the sports campus through new construction of an institute building (inauguration in 2013) with a large number of other sports facilities (artificial turf pitch as well as a large number of other sports facilities such as a beach football pitch, beach volleyball courts, jumping and throwing facilities, football pitch). In addition, students have access to teaching facilities in the immediate vicinity of the institute (e.g. for water sports and swimming).

Special features regarding research activities

Intensive third-party research in the five work areas; long-standing research expertise in the field of "Multi-sensor technology & movement sonification"; "FuNah" project; involvement in local, national and international research groups; additional initiatives in the areas of "Sport and Society" and "Sport and Health", the second in close cooperation with the Hannover Medical School Institute of Sports Medicine.

Other special features

Peer-led information and training sessions on the topic of inclusion; development of new continuous partnerships with schools and other sports-related institutions throughout the city, state and nationwide (some projects involve excursions within the framework of courses for students).; Student representatives belong to the collegial management of the institute (seat and vote on the Executive Board).
