Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The University of Freiburg, together with the Universities of Basel, Haute-Alsace and Strasbourg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, forms the Eucor – The European Campus alliance. This is the first European alliance for regional collaboration to be supported solely by universities. Mobility-promoting structure: In the BSc in Sports Science, a mobility window with the option of a stay abroad or a long internship is integrated as an integral part of the course of study. Close professional cooperation with the Professional Association for Health Sport (DVGS e.V.)

Five scientific fields of activity: training and movement studies/biomechanics, neuroscience, sports psychology, sports education; many research and development projects with companies and institutions in the public sector (e.g. sports shoe development, orthopaedic biomechanics, sport oncology, occupational health promotion); numerous international research collaborations (e.g. with USA, China, Australia, Canada, Israel, Singapore, and Europe); evidence-oriented research with transfer into teaching.
