Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Focus: Sport, Exercise and Health; Thee modules with 20 credit points,; including a project seminar in which students explicitly plan, implement and evaluate interventions for health promotion in cooperation with schools.; A focus on competence as a consistent principle in the didactic and scientific courses.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Within the framework of extensive project seminars, direct students obtain application-related insights, experience, knowledge and skills for the independent implementation of initiatives in the field of "Movement and Health". In small learning groups, the independent conceptualisation, implementation and evaluation of movement-related health promotion is tested in real-life projects. Against the backdrop of the heterogeneous experience/educational backgrounds of the students, this takes place in intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Cooperation with primary actors in health and exercise promotion: DSS is the first WHO cooperation centre for "Movement and Health" in Europe; interdisciplinary EU-funded research with high internationality (Europe, North America and Australia); synergies between the international Master's degree programme "Physical activity and health" (taught in English) and international research projects.
