Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Consistent career orientation with close links to theoretical practice, close cooperation with clinical partners (Chemnitz Clinic, rehabilitation facilities), opportunities to obtain a licence in the health sector, instructor licences. Upon completion of the university degree programme, students have the opportunity to earn a professional certificate of academic degree as a sports therapist through the professional association.

The Institute of Applied Kinesiology combines natural, social and behavioural science disciplines and offers a broad spectrum of research methods and associated research activities. The research areas at the Institute can be sub-divided into several thematic key areas: Health (sports therapy intervention for chronic diseases, exercise intervention for health promotion), motor skills (Parkinsons, diabetes, sensor technology), biomechanics and technology development (development projects for industry, ergonomics in the workplace).
