The department is characterised by a close link between research, practice and teaching. Due to the high proportion of compulsory elective courses, students can, on the one hand, orient their profile according to their own wishes and skills and, on the other hand, teachers can incorporate their research areas into the teaching. The interdisciplinary Master's degree programme in Business Information Technology also includes a very diverse study group, which enables all participants of the Master's degree programmes to communicate with students who have other pre-qualifications.

The Konstanz University of Applied Sciences has numerous Erasmus partner universities and supports stays abroad. In addition, it is characterized by geographical proximity to Switzerland and Austria. Accordingly, the proportion of Swiss employers for final theses, working students and also for career entry is high.
