Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The Department of Geosciences at the University of Tübingen offers a broad study offer in the field of geosciences and environmental sciences. The study offer includes three Bachelor's degree courses in Geosciences, Geoecology and Environmental Science. Based on the foundational scientific training in all bachelor's degree courses, there is a high transferability to one of the master's degree programmes offered at the location.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Following the Bachelor's degree programme, the three consecutive Master's degree courses Geoecology/Geoecology, Geosciences and Applied & Environmental Geoscience are offered, which allow individual thematic specialisation due to the extensive courses offered.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The international Applied & Environmental Geoscience degree programme was established at the department in 1999. Students from more than 70 countries have now successfully completed the degree programme. As part of the re-accreditation of the department's degree programmes in 2021, the language of instruction of all Master's courses was changed to English. Discussions are currently underway on the participation of the department in the planned international transdisciplinary master's programme in climate, environment and energy.
