Special features regarding research activities

The basic principles of geographical research focus on 3 characteristic areas: Water, Risk, Geomatics. Within the framework of these characteristic areas of focus, the research and teaching portfolio is characterised by 9 scientific areas (Climatology/Landscape Ecology, Hydrology/Water Resource Management, Geomorphology, Geographical Development Research, Urban and Regional Geography, Economic and Social Geography, Historical Geography, Remote Sensing/GIS, Subject-Specific Didactics). Collaborations in the fields of: Medical Geography, Aquatic Ecology, Nature Conservation and with the Geoverbund ABC/J.

Other special features

Violence protection working group at the institute (development/adoption of guidelines), Summer Semester 2023 information session for all employees and workshop for contact persons, flyers for first-year students and roll-up banners for events.
