Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Teaching draws on everyday problems and offers a high level of labour market relevance. Innovative and different teaching formats that address skills that is highly practical (e.g. blended learning, flipped classroom, involvement of externals, use of digital offerings) ensure a varied course. The very good teacher-student ratio allows for targeted individual support, especially by certified teaching staff in the field of higher education. German and international excursions provide a comparative view on concrete spatial phenomena in the field.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

In the degree course, great importance is attached to a broad, innovative and attractive range of teaching and learning forms (e.g. flipped classroom, learning through teaching). With the exception of one lecture, there are no classes where the lecturer simply stands at the front of the room teaching. Instead, the standard practice is to use methods that engage the students. The teaching methods vary between individual or group forms of work as well as independent designs and presentations by students. The aim is for students to be as actively involved in the learning process as possible and to allow them to help shape it through the teaching and learning formats that are used.
