Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Learner-centred: Learning material can be worked on any time, anywhere at your own pace. There is something for every type of learning. Application- and practice-oriented: A large number of laboratories and strong networking with companies make the material tangible. At the same level: Small study groups and a good teacher-student ratio make learning comfortable. Innovative didactic methods such as the inverted classroom. Project and group work allow you to deepen your own interests at an early stage.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Free design options through a broad catalogue of electives throughout the university; Selectable and extensive master's projects that make up the focus of the course of study; Informatics Inside: student conference with contributions from students, which is organised by master's students themselves; Various labs in the field of virtual and augmented reality, motion capture, AI lab, IoT lab, collaboration lab, networked operating room; Stays abroad can be integrated very easily into the course of studies; Small groups, no exams, mainly project work or seminar work

Special features regarding the international orientation

The university is highly international with a very international campus (more than 25% international students from more than 100 countries). The university, therefore, has a diverse infrastructure to support stays abroad (extensive language courses, financing options, many partner universities). The study programmes offer extra mobility windows that enable an uncomplicated stay abroad. Due to the regular presence of exchange students from the partner university, various courses are taught in English.

Excellently equipped labs for students that go far beyond regular computer science offerings; Research: Sound studio, film studio, film editing rooms, virtual reality laboratory, professional motion capture laboratory, IT security laboratory, medical informatics laboratory, presentation and media laboratory; IT training rooms; extensive equipment loan (e.g. photo cameras, HD film cameras, lighting units, sound equipment, laptops, teaching and research operations room). Very well-stocked library with access to extensive academic databases.
