Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Constructor University's goal is to train talented young people of all nationalities to become global citizens, capable of assuming roles responsible for the democratic, peaceful and sustainable development of the societies in which they live. This is ensured by high-quality teaching as well as manageable study loads and supportive study conditions. The ability to be successful in the world of work is a core objective, both in terms of professional content and social and cross-cultural skills.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

The master's degree programmes at Constructor University are internationally oriented and train students for qualified jobs in industry or research. Students are introduced to research topics early on. High-quality teaching and direct access to research groups enable students to address with relevant research questions independently and critically. In special courses, students are prepared for qualified jobs in industry.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The degree courses in the department are all in English and the student body consists of students from all continents of the world. Students from Germany make up less than 10% of a course of study. The organisation of the degree courses themselves is strongly influenced by the American higher education system and therefore differs significantly from degree courses at other German universities. According to the international student body, graduates have a clear orientation towards international companies and Master's degree programmes.

Special features regarding the equipment

In addition to the general IT infrastructure, teaching in Computer Science is supported by a Teaching Lab. To support courses, IT operates systems for the electronic submission of homework and systems are used for online communication between course participants. Furthermore, there are various robotics laboratories in Computer Science.

Special features regarding research activities

The Research is carried out in the following fields in particular: Machine Learning, Robotics, Scanning Databases, Computer Security, Visualisation and Computer Graphics, Control Loops and Automation, Computer Networks, Distributed Systems and Imaging Procedures in the field of Medicine. In terms of subject, research activities often have a multi-disciplinary structure (Bioinformatics, Geoinformatics) and are frequently integrated in terms of organisation in European research projects. The development of prototypes is a significant component of research activities.

Other special features

The English-language campus university offers a home for students from over 100 countries. Its courses of study are trans-disciplinary and problem-orientated with individual student support. The university has diverse student activities in the fields of economics, politics, society, culture, sport, sustainability and responsible leadership. And it has diverse industry partnerships and a worldwide active alumni network.
