Special features regarding teaching

In addition to the pharmacy degree programme, with its highly innovative PharMSchool teaching concept, the pharmacy programme also offers a Master´s degree programme (MSc) in pharmaceutical sciences. The content is highly tailored to the job requirements in the pharmaceutical industry and can be studied by students with a bachelor's degree in a natural science as well as by students who have passed the state examination in pharmacy. The latter can complete the master's degree in just two semesters because they have the requisite knowledge.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In the Pharmacy teaching unit, intensive student exchange takes place among universities at the following locations: ERASMUS programme: Finland: Kuopio; France: Lille, Montpellier, Grenoble, Toulouse, Lyon; Italy: Sassari, Palermo, Padova, Pavia, Camerino; Norway: Oslo; Spain: Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona; Turkey: Istanbul. Outside of the Erasmus programme: Korea: Seoul, Daejeon; Brazil Florianopolis, Maringá.

Special features regarding the equipment

The Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster is one of the largest and best-equipped departments of its kind. The technical equipment and infrastructure of the PharmaCampus is one of the most modern in Germany with very well-equipped laboratories. The equipment also includes all large-scale equipment that is important for teaching and research, especially networks with various mass and NMR spectrometers, state-of-the-art microscopic methods such as confocal laser scanning and atomic force microscopy, as well as high-end cell laboratory equipment, including electrophysiology and much more.

Special features regarding research activities

Researchers at the Pharmaceutical Institutes are involved in the following coordinated projects, research focus areas and networks: Chemical Biology of Ion Channels (Chembion): DFG Research Training Group; Functional pi-Systems: DFG International Research Training Group; Graduate School of Natural Products (GS-NP); Research Network Natural Products Against Neglected Diseases (ResNet NPND).

Other special features

Diversity in the workplace and in studies are of central importance at the University of Münster. The university values all employees and students, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and religion.
