Coordination of the DFG priority programme "Antarctic Research", participation in the DFG Research Training Group "Baltic Transcoast" and the Leibniz ScienceCampus Phosphorus Research Rostock, DFG, BMBF, EU and other education and research funding (e.g. DBU, Volkswagen Foundation) in the field of marine biology, aquatic ecology and behavioural ecology; further areas of focus lie in the field of plant physiology/biochemistry, which attract considerable third-party funds and will be strengthened by a new Heisenberg professorship starting winter semester 23/24.
