Building knowledge, ability to apply soft skills practically (team and communication skills) for professional activities in Business Informatics; Very strong links between lectures, exercises and practicals to ensure learning success and application orientation; Very good access to teaching staff; Small practicals groups with an excellent tutor-student ratio; Distinct practice orientation through teachers who have a lot of practical experience and contacts with industry; Opportunity to spend semesters abroad via cooperations with various partner universities.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Acquisition of special skills in the core areas of Computer Science, especially in topics related to Information Systems and Mobile Computing such as Distributed and Virtual Systems. In addition to extensive subject-expertise, students in our Master's degree programme also gain the ability to work independently, holistically and are thus enabled to successfully master a career beyond software development. During the two theory semesters and the subsequent master's thesis, students can choose a specialisation in the field of System-Oriented Computer Science.

Its location in the border triangle DE-NL-BE makes the institution perfect for cross-border cooperation, e.g. with Katholieke Hogeschool Zuid-West-Vlaanderen, Haute École de la Province de Liège and Hogeschool Zuyd. Many students come from the Netherlands-Belgium border region or live there. Participation in the Erasmus programme.
