Special features regarding the equipment

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen has a core "Media Technology Medicine" facility, which is responsible for video productions for teaching, podcast productions, photogrammetry for 3D models and immersive 180-degree videos. A doc cam is also available for patient-focused teaching. Students of our faculty have wide access to electronic journals, licensed e-book packages and databases through the medical library.

Special features regarding research activities

Research focuses in neurosciences, oncology and immunology, infectious disease research, vascular medicine for diabetes patients. Medical technology and core facilities as cross-sectional areas. Intervention study pelviTrust to support women in recovery before and after childbirth; physical activity cohort studies; bone health; chronic diseases and health behaviours. Represented in DFG with Clusters of Excellence, CRCs, Research Units and Research Training Groups. German Centres for Health Research, Centre for Personalized Medicine, Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Centre for Rare Diseases.

Other special features

Subject-specific study counselling is provided for students with family responsibilities, and these students also have the opportunity to study according to an individual study and examination plan. There are separate work areas and several research projects for inclusion and diversity. Climate and environmental protection as well as sustainability are of great importance and continuous improvements are being made in these areas.
