Special features regarding teaching

Pre-clinical training is conducted jointly with the Biology Faculty, resulting in many points of contact with natural science courses (biology, biochemistry). The Faculties of Medicine and Biology and Pre-Clinical Medicine offer the joint "Molecular Medicine" degree programme. Special offers for students include the StATUR student education and training centre, an online learning portal and additional offerings for self-directed learning. There is also a well-stocked sub-library for medicine as well as a textbook collection available.

Individual opportunities for international students, especially in the practical year; teaching cooperation (exchange programmes) with the Universities of California/San Diego, Zambia/Lusaka, Otago/New Zealand, Universidade Estudial Paulista Botucatu/Brazil, ; Kansai Medical University/ Japan; Organisation of international. student congresses in the Master's degree programme in Molecular Medicine every two years; collaborations with English-speaking scientists during academic studies; organization of and financial support for worldwide exchange programs in consultation with the university's International Office.

Other special features

Pre-clinical medicine is part of the Faculty of Biology and Pre-Clinical Medicine. This results in many points of contact with natural science subjects. The university clinic and the main campus are in the immediate vicinity, as is the East Bavarian Technical University of Applied Sciences, with which the faculty cooperates closely. Some Chairs have been established at local clinics; The result of this is strong interdependence with the region as well as through close networking in teaching and health care with hospitals and resident doctors in the eastern Bavarian region.
