The work unit on the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany deals with aspects of modern governance as well as democracy and citizen participation. The work unit on international politics and comparison of political systems conducts research on the topics of foreign policy, the EU, development policy and peace and conflict research, as well as on Africa. The research in the work unit on political communication deals with the content and effect of political communication on political judgement and political behaviour (election and attitude research, political parties, TV debates).
