Special features regarding teaching

Commercial Law is taught in the network model. Teaching materials for time-independent and location-independent study are supplemented by Saturday presences. Business Law can thus be studied while training or while working in career-integrated form. This is done by over 90 percent of the enrolled students.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The Faculty of Technical Business Administration has maintained relationships with its partner universities for a long time. In 2022, students and a lecturer were sent to an organising partner as part of a BIP programme. The BIP is characterised by its hybrid structure: Online as preparation or follow-up, physically as a coming together of multicultural student groups. Direct experience with diverse cultures and diversity are the key stimulus for young people to actively experience other ways of thinking and new horizons and to develop their own personality from this.

Support for founders

From the initial idea to the start-up: The "Fhpreneur" start-up initiative accompanies students in the start-up process and offers them a holistic concept with bundled expertise. Furthermore, the start-up camp/incubator helps students by involving regional companies, start-ups, etc. in the start-up process at an early stage. Successful start-ups (alumni) form a supportive ecosystem together with partners from industry. The continuously expanding community lives by the guiding principle of "give and take" and thus creates result-oriented added value.

Other special features

Sustainability: External speakers on current topics, e.g. as part of the Hagen University Talks. In the winter semester 2022, on the topic of Energy & Buildings and Energy Savings in cooperation with the consumer organisation. The faculty appoints a Sustainability Officer and has its own sustainability lab. Lectures on Female Entrepreneurship as part of “FH-Preneur”. The Faculty Equality Officer is involved in all important committees/bodies of the faculty.
