Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Almost all lectures are supplemented by an internship. Here, students learn the practical application of the concepts introduced in the lecture in small groups (16 students), typically using a laptop/PC. Projects are developed in pairs or in medium-sized groups through successive tasks. The practicals are usually held by the professors themselves. Lectures are mostly interactive; both live coding and lecture-hall exercises are typical didactic elements.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

In the application-oriented Master's degree programme, students are taught using state-of-the-art technology and learn to apply it to problems and develop innovative solutions. Students are given the opportunity to derive and develop scientific methods for difficult and complex problems in practice or research and to apply them with the appropriate knowledge. The Master's degree programme is characterised by a wide range of elective courses that cover various areas of computer science and deepen students knowledge in the field.

Other special features

Not only the lectures but also the practicals and tutorials are personally supervised by the professors so that direct contact with the students which is based on partnership is ensured. In order to make the start of the studies easier, the departmental student organisation offers a first-semester induction over the course of several days. As part of this, you will not only be provided with essential information, but also meet new people. In the ideal scenario, this will lay the foundation for a learning group, which, in our experience, is essential for successful studies.
