Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Students are introduced to programming, project implementation and project management activities in the IT industry through a seminar teaching style, exercises in small groups, practical semesters and projects. Through all-day simulation games, e.g. in IT Project Management, students get practical experience with methods and tools and team processes. Programming tasks in the team are carried out in the fourth semester in the programming project and in project work. During the practical phase, students test and deepen their professional, methodical and social skills.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The department is committed to providing its students with courses to help with the acquisition of international and cross-cultural skills and to prepare them better for their subsequent careers in Germany and abroad. Examples include events/courses in English and ones dealing with international topics, International Teaching Week with 5-6 English-taught electives, excursions to partner universities in India, China, Brazil, and Canada (embedded in courses), individual advice on trips abroad and mobility windows
