Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

In addition to features regarding content, especially the teaching methods practised contribute to the profile of the courses of study. The main objectives are: Guidance on independent work, teaching of interdisciplinary and networked thinking, promotion of communication skills, project management, leadership qualification and team-oriented behaviour; ability to think in an abstract, analytical way and to work scientifically This is achieved by a good student-teacher ratio in the lectures with 40 to 70 participants in the Bachelor's degree and with 20 participants in the Master´s degree programmes.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Our Master's degree programme is characterised being extremely flexible. This allows students to dedicate up to 70% of the Master's degree programme on the desired focus (Media Informatics, Software Development, Technical Informatics, IT Security, Data Science). Furthermore, we offer an impressive study offer with an extremely large practical component. Students can also choose to focus on business start-ups or research.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The field of Computer Science strives for further internationalisation. A new international business informatics degree programme was introduced in 2022. Students from various courses of study have the opportunity to use the range of international courses of study if they are interested.

The Faculty of Computer Science considers its main task to be the education of the students. Within this, the active and independent work of the students, in addition to the quality of teaching and the subject-specific qualifications, is at the foreground. The Faculty of Computer Science supports qualitatively good teaching in all fields of Computer Science including related fields and strives to achieve the coexistence of practice-oriented teaching and applied practice-related research.
