Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

The teaching of technical and methodological competencies, which enable independent scientific work, is based on current research questions and is highly practical. Involvement in current R&D topics through project work and final theses, up to permanent employment on a part-time basis. Electives in the fields of Machine Learning, Media Informatics and Software Engineering allow students to individual design and specialisation. Through key qualifications students develop leadership skills, interdisciplinary solution strategies and critical thinking.

Other special features

The Karlsruhe region has many IT companies with a high demand for students and graduates. Karlsruhe offers an ideal environment for start-up founders who are very well-supported at the university due to advisory services. Students can take part in one of many research projects within the faculty or at external research institutions. The cooperation with CERN has already allowed many students to work at one of the best research institutions in the world. Social commitment is rewarded with ECTS points.
