Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

extensive collection of physics demonstration experiments for lectures on Experimental Physics; Advanced practical training in physics using state-of-the-art and comprehensive array of equipment, numerous courses at the intersection of psychology and physics.

Special features regarding the international orientation

International degree course in "Advanced Functional Materials” Students are involved in international research cooperations of the work groups.

Exchange universities for stay abroads

Université Grenoble Alpes, Frankreich; Politechnika Lubelska, Polen; Babes-Bolyai University, Rumänien; Università degli studi di Roma "Tor Vergata" Italien, Tohoku University, Japan.

Special features regarding the equipment

Institute building with modern infrastructure for research (media supply, clean rooms in cooperation with Fraunhofer ENAS and ZFM) and teaching (seminar rooms, practical labs, etc.); The institute has its own mechanical workshop which includes a teaching workshop, and the MAIN research centre, which stands for materials, architectures and integration of nanomembranes.

Special features regarding research activities

Integration into four key research areas: complex materials, from molecule to functional material, scientific modelling and simulation, sensor technology and cognition; Knowledge transfer in numerous cooperation projects with regionally, nationally and internationally active companies and non-university research institutions; numerous third-party funded projects.

Other special features

State-of-the-art student lab for school classes; extensive collection of physics demonstration experiments for lectures on Experimental Physics; modern and well-equipped Physics practical work facilities; Extensive range of teaching and research opportunities at the interface between psychology and physics and the interface to chemistry and materials science. Sustainability is included in the courses of the TU Chemnitz in a variety of ways, for example, in many courses, colloquia, seminars, practical cooperations and student projects.
