Special features regarding teaching

The faculty offers comprehensive exam preparation through special preparation courses. These cover the entire compulsory curriculum. As part of the Mainz Mini-Course programme, courses in foreign languages by international professors take place regularly.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The faculty offers courses in foreign languages by international lecturers and employed lecturers. Integrated degree courses in French, Italian and Scottish law allow credits and degrees earned abroad (Master’s, LLM) to be recognised as specialisation exams. In addition, there is a “Magister” degree course accompanying studies that includes a stay at an international partner university, as well as the opportunity for a German-French doctorate. Mainz students regularly take part in international moot courts.

Special features regarding the equipment

Students have free access to beck-online, juris and LexisNexis.

Special features regarding research activities

The Debt Counselling Centre supports the Rhineland-Palatinate debtor and insolvency advisory offices and optimises the counselling work through specialist accompanying research. The Mainz Media Institute, together with the faculty, offers a postgraduate degree course in Media Law, conducts research projects and events on media law, and carries out a knowledge transfer by advising politics, companies and associations. The Credit Law Institute combines research and teaching on German and international law in the credit industry.

Support for founders

The expertise of the student management consultancy "berater e.V." is available to students of the faculty.
