Special features regarding the equipment

Private mathematics sub-library with 100 quiet workstations; Room for independent learning and group work (with contact to "JIM" academic assistants); All courses in mathematics and most applied subjects on one campus (with good local public transport connections); Several CIP computer pools with special mathematics software; campus-wide WiFi; E-learning platform with materials for almost all courses, including some lecture videos; Campus licenses for various mathematics software packages for mathematics students.

Special features regarding research activities

Diverse research activities in various areas of analysis, adjacent subjects and fields of application; Basic research in core areas of pure mathematics; Interdisciplinary networking of applied mathematics and statistics; Contacts with research and international entities through summer and winter schools; Doctorate also at the Graduate School of Science and Technology; Intensive networking with mathematics-related subjects, in particular with physics through the subject of mathematical physics; University fairs and other opportunities to connect with researchers.

Other special features

Our focus in the Mathematics course: Broad range of courses for all facets of Mathematics. This is why there are four Bachelor's/Master's courses. In the Bachelor's degree course there are options to change in the first year in particular and to change from the Bachelor's to the Master's course. A Mathematics course is not easy – especially at the beginning. There is therefore a focus on a good start to the course and individual support for any initial difficulties. Mixture of examinations: We believe in regular informative feedback on individual academic progress. There are therefore often ungraded exams and also oral examination with an overview feel to them.
