Excellent research in all core subjects and principles of law. Special emphasis is placed on the law of digitalisation, questions of international and European law and interdisciplinary research. Current research projects: ForDaySec (Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art); Data Release Vectors (Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation); Normative Assessment of Novel Somatic Genomic Therapies (Federal Ministry of Education and Research); Legislative Authority in a State of Health Emergency (Federal Ministry of Education and Research); Fundamental Principles of a Liberal Democratic State (ELI); Security Legislation, Freedom Commission and Surveillance Accounting (“Überwachungsgesamtrechnung”) (with LMU Munich/DAV (German Bar Association).

Support for founders

The faculty has a Start-up Law Clinic. Here, students work on relevant legal cases under the supervision of fully qualified lawyers and advise business founders and companies. The advice covers the entire field of start-up law and focuses on internet and digital law. As part of the university education, student legal services offer students the opportunity, similar to a work placement, to gain practical experience during their degree course and to immerse themselves in the dynamic start-up environment.
