Solid basic education in mathematics; Large software development project (software engineering internship); subject-specific foreign language training; Excellent teacher-student ratio in bachelor's degree programmes and very good equipment; Bachelor's degree in internet computing as an applied computer science with a focus on internet technologies, that simultaneously allows students to learn fundamental aspects of economics and law as well as society, media and communication; in addition to providing a broad foundation, there is also a close connection between research and teaching.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Broad, international, and modern range of courses; Substantial freedom to choose courses and specialisation; Involvement in top-level research projects; Very good contacts with business and industry through chairs and institutes; Strong focus on AI topics.

Dedicated room with 31 workstations for supervised practice with didactic network (exchange of image content, remote control of the PC workstations); Three dedicated computer rooms for students for free practice with 72 workstations, 46 of which have recently been renewed and 10 workstations for group work; Anteroom with installation areas, sockets, monitors for student laptops; Media centre with studio and news rooms; Chair area: various partially updated servers, computer clusters, database computers & GPU computer clusters; Fabrication laboratories (FabLab); Use of university computing resources via the internet.

Strong integration of mathematics and computer science; University's overall focus on the "Networked Society"; Interdisciplinary linking of humanities and law; Research focuses: a) Data as raw material: Management, use and preparation of large, complex, dynamic and distributed databases, b) security and cryptography, c) algorithms and mathematical modelling, d) algebra, geometry and logic, e) didactics of mathematics and computer science. Furthermore, the faculty is setting up a new focus on artificial intelligence.
