Special features regarding teaching

Focus on fundamental skills that are required to have a successful career later, "Teaching and Student Advice and Counselling" service unit, coordinated concept of theory (lectures) and practice (preliminary exercises), ensuring excellent teaching through didactic training for tutors and academic staff, regular evaluation of teaching in the Faculty, additional studying alongside lectures using e-learning (videocasts, online course, recorded lectures), cooperation within the framework of the Virtual University of Bavaria, inclusion of specialisation areas enables individual specialisation

Special features regarding the international orientation

Together with the Université de Rennes 1 (France), the Faculty offers the programme “German-French Law”, accredited and funded by the German-French University. The interdisciplinary Master´s degree programme in “Human Rights” in English is aimed at prospective students from Germany and abroad. The “Research Centre of Turkish Law” is engaged in comparative legal research regarding Turkish law. The Faculty has a broad network of partner universities abroad.

Special features regarding the equipment

Interactive whiteboards in the majority of teaching rooms, PC workstations in the library and computer room in the Faculty, access to almost all legal databases, possibility of access to the university databases from home, newly built study rooms for small groups (can be used by individual study groups), e-learning: in-depth and supplementary online courses e.g. for examination technique using specifically created teaching videos, etc.

Broad-based research activity in the Faculty, especially through the existing research centres: The Research Centre for Science and University Law, the Research Centre for Banking and Capital Markets Law in Northern Bavaria
