Special features regarding teaching

Content and scope of the subjects on offer are in line with the policy recommendations of the DGP; The BSc's mandatory training in all basic and methodological subjects and in three main applied subjects allow students to do an MSc in psychology across Germany; The M.Sc. in psychology offers many avenues for individual specialisation and for meeting the requirements for admission to psychotherapy training; The relatively small size of the B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses and their central location ensure exchange and contact with lecturers and fellow students as well as access to all services

Campus library open 24/7 with a large psychology collection and digital access to all the main subject databases and journals directly opposite the institute building; Lecture and seminar rooms in the institute building and in close proximity to the main campus and central canteen (directly opposite) mean short distances; there are two computer pools with modern equipment for use in computer-aided teaching and individual work; Research-focused training supported by EEG, eye-tracking and video laboratories; Applied training supported by the university outpatient clinics and assessment centre

Research-focused teaching, project work and empirical theses allow students to gain insights into all current research projects of the institute, focus areas include cognitive neuroscience, life span emotions, psychotherapy research, anxiety disorders in childhood, occupational health, environmental psychology, interpersonal attraction, close cooperation with non-university institutions (e.g. MPI for Cognitive and Neurosciences and MPI for Evolutionary Anthropology)
