University of Konstanz is one of eleven universities or networks of excellence in Germany. Only six universities throughout Germany have consistently been universities of excellence since 2007. With its concept ‘University of Konstanz – creative.together’ and its two new Clusters of Excellence – the ‘Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour’ and ‘The Politics of Inequality: Perceptions, Participation and Policies’, it is successful in both funding programmes of the Excellence Strategy of the German Federal Government and the Länder.
