Support for founders

With the start-up initiative SMILE, students, graduates, research assistants as well as doctoral students and doctoral graduates are supported on their way to personal and professional independence across faculties and universities with various free events, seminars, workshops, coaches, etc. as well as in numerous sub-projects, such as SMILE.start, SMILE.freiberufler (freelancers), SMILE.gründerinnen (founders). SMILE is financed with funds from the European Union and the Free State of Saxony, among others.

Other special features

With its founding date 1409, the University of Leipzig is the second oldest university in Germany. The Faculty of Economics is located in the city centre. The MSc Business Administration is unique in Saxony and in German-speaking higher education (great freedom of choice, low proportion of compulsory modules and strong focus on the areas of service and sustainability management and corporate accounting). The MSc Economics has a particularly good student-teacher ratio. The student selection in the MSc Business Administration and MSc Economics can include a personal interview.
