Due to the large number of chairs, the close cooperation with university (e.g. Collaborative Research Centres) and non-university research institutions (e.g. Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim) as well as the large volume of third-party funded projects, there are extraordinarily diverse opportunities for students to participate early on in research.

Support for founders

The University of Mannheim offers a wide range of excellent development opportunities for business founders from all disciplines. In courses, students can test business models and develop their entrepreneurial spirit. Important theoretical foundations and tools for setting up a company are also taught here. Dedicated student initiatives invite you to exchange ideas and network. The Mannheim Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MCEI) offers so-called "accelerator teaching formats" that accelerate and support start-ups during your studies.

Other special features

The Faculty of Economics has a wide range of options for individual specialisations in the course. By collaborating with the Universität Heidelberg, optional courses can also be taken there too. the Faculty is distinguished by a very active departmental student organisation (representation of student interests) and a high level of interaction between students and teaching staff. Outstanding graduates of the Bachelor's degree can be included directly in the department's Doctoral programme. Master's students can switch to the Doctoral programme via the Research Track.
