Special features regarding teaching

High proportion of compulsory elective courses with relevance to professional practice; Wide range of mandatory elective modules; early introduction to research activities; low participant numbers in seminars, high level of student networking; regular teaching evaluations; course flexibility thanks to the option for part-time study; numerous programmes for starting studies. Some seminars can be taken online.

Special features regarding the international orientation

More than 20 international partner universities for student exchanges; Internationally networked research projects; a compulsory elective module "Academic Language" promotes the learning of foreign languages in the academic field. Almost all modules offer English-language seminars (as well as German).

Special features regarding the equipment

All course rooms have good technical equipment with a projector and an audio system and most also have induction loops. The faculty has had a new building since 2011 that offers generous space for classes. Numerous very well equipped laboratories which can be used by students (three EEG laboratories); Eye-Tracking; Two video labs; Psychophysiological laboratory etc.). Development of technical infrastructure for hybrid courses.

Special features regarding research activities

High number of third-party-funded projects in which students are included as student assistants or as part of final theses; High proportion of research projects with interdisciplinary links; participation of students in specialist and academic conferences; Regular institute colloquium with excellent lectures by outstanding international scientists.

Other special features

The faculty is centrally located in Bamberg's Old Town (World Heritage Site). Bamberg offers a variety of cultural events, including some taking place outside of the university, and is very student-friendly.
