Special features regarding research activities

The idea of responsible innovation work by economic actors is the guiding principle of the faculty in research. Research focuses: Compliance and Governance (analysis of the design and impact of institutions to ensure sustainable corporate governance); Marketing and Consumer Science (designing business activities to develop products and services geared to market requirements); Global Change and Development (analysis of change processes in the global economy and in particular the problems of low-income countries).

Support for founders

The Faculty of Economics has appointed a Start-up Officer from within the ranks of its professors: This is the first point of contact for start-up ideas in the faculty. They pass on prospective start-ups to the start-up funding of the University of Göttingen and, in close coordination with them, accompanies the first steps on the way from the idea to a business plan to implementation and marketing. At the central level, numerous workshops and a start-up competition are offered, and projects within the framework of the Southern Lower Saxony Innovation Campus are promoted and coached.

Other special features

Diversity competence courses; Wide range of courses (seminars, etc.) on the topic of sustainability. University level: Online portal "Gender and Diversity in Teaching and Studies" with information materials, counselling and support services; Qualification programmes for teaching staff and students.
