Exercises and tutorials in small groups, also in large lectures; Key skills including business planning; Seminars with renowned visiting academics from Germany and abroad; International collaborations with renowned universities; promotion of student research projects and practice projects; Case studies in seminars and lectures; Broad range of English-speaking courses; Orientation phase for a more rapid and successful start to studies.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Faculty's own International Relations Centre, own advisory office for international students, triple degree programme "International Triple Degree", there are no tuition fees at the partner universities for any exchange places in the faculty, additional places at over 100 partner universities of the LMU, economics language courses in nine languages, wide range of courses taught in English, two Master's programmes entirely in English.

Faculty IT infrastructure; Training rooms with a total of 80 PCs and 50 freely accessible PCs; Printers (subject to fees); Standard software (MS Windows, MS Office) as well as licensed application software, e.g. Stata, SPSS, MATLAB additionally via remote access for courses; Access to databases such as Datastream, CRSP and Compustat via WRDS, SNL, Execucomp, People Intelligence, Securities Data Company, Boardex, Event Studies; Free WiFi across the entire campus; software provided for students by the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre; further training rooms centrally at the LMU.

Special features regarding research activities

The research focuses of the 24 academic chairs we have at present are combined into five competence areas: Finance & Insurance, Accounting & Taxation, Marketing & Innovation Management, Information Systems & Digital Business, Management & Strategy including cross-cutting themes Legitimacy & Responsibility and Digital Transformation. Lead role in interdisciplinary and international centres, e.g. Economics & Business Data Centre. Involvement in national and international research networks, among others within German Research Foundation (DFG) projects (Collaborative Research Centre and individual funding). Extensive and interdisciplinary research projects with industry partners from the private sector.

Support for founders

Close cooperation with the Entrepreneurship Centre of the LMU. As a result, a variety of support services for business founders and specific spin-offs from Business Administration: Course "START with Business Planning" compulsory for all Business Administration students; Certificate for students in "Entrepreneurship Excellence Programme"; "LMU Entrepreneurship Seminar" for academics and students; Work placements at start-ups within the LMU context; Practice projects as part of the “Entrepreneur Farm” with renowned companies (Corporate Ent.); Networking with mentors and investors via various event formats.
