The courses on offer allow students to build the broad foundation in business necessary and at the same time to choose numerous, attractive specialisation options depending on individual interests and goals; In view of the fact that we are living in a global, knowledge-based economy, internationally oriented management issues and stays abroad play an important role in our programme.

Special features regarding the international orientation

International collaborative research (30-country research project 5C, 14-country research project GLOMO, 143-country research project GLOBE, etc.); EHRM programme; German-French Doctorate; Student and lecturer exchange (Erasmus); International guest lectures and international staff; Participation in Bridges Network (Strategic Transnational Network of Universities); Bachelor’s degree IBWL: Compulsory year abroad with a guaranteed quota of exchange spaces.

Special features regarding research activities

For Bamberg’s Business Administration, “people are at the centre of economic processes” and focuses in particular on six key research areas. Solid basic research with different approaches to research methodology that comprise quantitative and qualitative social-scientific and experimental methods constitutes the basis for rigorous and practically relevant research results. An integrated feature of Business Administration in Bamberg is also the close link between research and teaching with respect to research contents and research methodology.

Support for founders

Support for business start-ups is primarily anchored at the university level. In teaching, a range of content relevant to start-ups is offered in several teaching modules of several chairs.

Other special features

The topic of diversity/sustainability is anchored at the whole university level. Sustainability management includes courses on diversity and gender. In teaching, the university strives for an understanding of sustainability as a fundamental principle. Sustainability is anchored as an essential subject in a whole range of courses from the various faculties for Business Administration students. In addition, there is a Sustainability Week and stakeholder lectures on sustainability. Coursework and final theses on various aspects of sustainability.
