Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy is one of eleven faculties at the University of Regensburg. It currently provides around 1,500 students with a comprehensive and excellent study offer, with outstanding support throughout the entire period of study. A wide range of lectures is also available online. Lectures are conducted either in English or German.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Lectures are held in English.

Special features regarding the international orientation

All of the degree courses are internationally oriented, offering exchange programmes, English-language lectures in the later semesters of the Bachelor's degree course, English-language Master´s degree programmes and language courses), as well as the opportunity to go abroad in all phases of the degree course. In the international Master's degree course SYNCAT (funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria), a 2-month external research module is obligatory.

Special features regarding the equipment

Excellent laboratory equipment and early integration of modern technology into the course content, access to research and literature databases, campus licences for special chemistry software.

Special features regarding research activities

Two DFG-funded joint projects "Collaborative Research Centre for Photocatalysis" and "Research Training Group for Ion Pairs" as well as an international doctoral programme for photo-electrocatalysis, funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria, include particularly current issues of drug development and sustainable chemistry in their training and research programmes.
