Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Solid training in the basic subjects of inorganic, organic, and physical/ theoretical chemistry and a high proportion of laboratory practicals. Combination of theory and practice as well as early focus on research. Introduction to Academic Work. Range of courses offered enhanced by non-university research institutes and representatives from industry. Significant flexibility in terms of compulsory electives, with choice of offerings as well as the full range of university offerings. Programme can be design flexibly. Chemistry winter school for first-year students.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Relatively flexible curriculum, with only six modules required in the core areas: synthetic chemistry,; spectroscopy, structural analysis, magnetic resonance, technical chemistry, and computer-aided chemistry, all other modules can be chosen freely. Four four-week research internships help to familiarise students with research. Internships abroad are possible for up to 12 weeks.
