Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The teaching in the Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry is jointly supported in Hanover by institutes of Leibniz University and the Hannover Medical School.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The Faculty of Natural Science of Leibniz University Hannover is an attractive research location characterised by numerous international collaborations. At the same time, the Faculty of Natural Science is active in many university-wide and subject-specific exchange programmes and supports students, doctoral candidates and junior researchers in gaining experience abroad and establishing international contacts.

Special features regarding the equipment

The 20 institutes of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, together with strong research partners in the region, provide excellent opportunities for teaching and research in science. The basis for this are the approximately 50 professorships and 650 employees of the scientific, technological, technical and administrative service.

Special features regarding research activities

The faculty researchers work in research initiatives, research centres and as part of strategic research collaborations on current scientific issues. The interdisciplinary, close cooperation in both internal and external university partnerships ensures high excellence and quality – from theory to practice.

Other special features

The Faculty of Natural Sciences and its members strive to set an example for students and doctoral candidates by incorporating ethical awareness when it comes to their research topics and imparting factual knowledge in teaching and instruction on final theses. The focus is on developing a sensitivity fpr the complexity of research and an awareness of its social consequences.
