CORE - COMPETENCE ORIENTED RESEARCH & EDUCATION We believe that sustainable learning is only possible if there is enough room for experimentation, play and critical questions. That is why we have completely redesigned the classic degree course. You will study in 5-week blocks and work on practical tasks in small teams. You then take an exam on the course material of the past weeks and receive continuous performance feedback throughout the entire degree course. University lecturersare there to assist you as individual learning coaches.

The international orientation is reflected, on the one hand, in the intercultural student body (particularly in the Master’s programmes) and on the other hand in the international orientation of webinars, trade fairs and conferences or the annual interdisciplinary summer school. Students are explicitly encouraged to write final theses in cooperation with international universities, funded by Erasmus or Erasmus+. Some of the extracurricular events, such as hackathons and webinars, are also international and funded by third parties.

The faculty has a well-equipped water laboratory and a workshop for use in projects such as prototyping. Laboratory of Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics and Machine Operating Technology; Fluid-movement simulations; Automation; Practicals to plan production and manufacturing processes; Laboratory for materials testing. A PC laboratory can be used to ensure access to all standard software. Specific software packages such as SPSS, Minitab, Matlab or SuperPro Designer are also available to students.

Research topics: Hydrogen real laboratory (in application, plasma technology for surface activation and sewage and effluent treatment)

The university has a start-up institute that advises and supports students who set up their own company and operates on three levels: teaching, support and networking. This offer is aimed at students and graduates up to five years after graduation, but also at employees of SRH University Heidelberg.
