Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary modules; integration of Social Work and its related subjects; Curriculum: Generalist, oriented towards research- and example-based learning in workshops, projects and small groups. Standard features: Practical phases, personal skills in the areas of reflection and independent action, capacity for ethical judgement. Teaching is characterised by a strong theory-practice transfer. Dresden Protestant University of Applied Sciences (ehs) combines research and teaching: All degree courses have designated research components.

Degree courses include and address the international and diversity-related content of social work. Dresden Protestant University of Applied Sciences (ehs) sees itself as a research university: In close cooperation with industry, it initiates, supports and conducts research activities in all its research fields. Research projects are conducted at the university and in the research institute apfe (work centre for practical research, advice and development) of the ehs. The research institute is part of the Centre for Research, Continuing Education and Guidance at Dresden Protestant University of Applied Sciences. The transfer of research results is ensured by further and continuing education.
